What is a BioWaterPool?

BioWaterPools combine the comfort of a swimming pool with the sustainability of a biotope and the water quality of a mountain stream.

On the outside, BioWaterPools differ only slightly from their “chemical” counterparts – it is the water treatment that makes the difference. While conventional swimming pools sometimes use toxic substances such as chlorine, pH-lowering acids, algicides and flocculants based on aluminum or lanthanum, the water in BioWaterPools is purified by a biofilm in the filter system, which ensures crystal clear conditions. The water no longer needs to be changed annually and electricity costs are significantly lower thanks to the natural filter process.

The natural cleaning processes of mountain streams serve as a model for the filter systems from Biofermenta. In the evenly flowed limestone-gravel filter of the BioWaterPool, a biofilm of microorganisms and bacteria forms, which specifically removes nutrients from the water, binds phosphates and thereby keeps it clean and crystal clear.
