What is a BioWaterPool?
BioWaterPools combine the comfort of a swimming pool with the sustainability of a biotope and the water quality of a mountain stream.
On the outside, BioWaterPools differ only imperceptibly from their “chemical” counterparts – it is the water treatment that makes the difference. While conventional pools sometimes use toxic substances such as chlorine, pH-lowering acids, algicides and flocculants based on aluminium or lanthanum, the water in a BioWaterPool is purified by a biofilm in the filter system that ensures crystal-clear conditions. The water no longer has to be changed every year, and electricity costs are significantly lower thanks to the natural filter process.
Chemical-free, 100% biological water treatment
The natural cleaning processes of mountain streams are the model for Biofermenta's filter systems. In the evenly flowed-through limestone–gravel filter of the BioWaterPool, a biofilm of microorganisms and bacteria forms that removes nutrients from the water, binds phosphates and thereby keeps it clean and crystal clear. All without any chemicals – ideal for allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin.

The wish for a natural bathing experience can be fulfilled for owners of conventional pools without major construction work. Chemically cleaned pools can be converted into BioWaterPools in next to no time – essentially by changing the filter system.
